2024 End-of-Year Impact Report
Published
Immigration has always been a complex issue, and this year, we saw those intricacies and nuances take center stage in the national discourse. As our issue came to the forefront of a contentious, divisive election season, the American Immigration Council displayed consistency and clarity: dispelling misinformation with facts in real time, nimbly responding to changing conditions, and scenario planning to enable us to meet a wide universe of potential opportunities and challenges coming out of a deeply uncertain political climate.
As we look ahead to 2025, our challenge and our charge is to protect immigrant communities from harmful policy proposals and dangerous, xenophobic rhetoric. This work does not only impact immigrant communities; it has profound stakes for our economy, particularly sectors that rely heavily on immigrant labor; the movement for racial justice; and the health of our democracy. In this end-of-year report, read how we are deploying the full suite of approaches to advance a fairer, more humane immigration system; inform decision-makers and the public discourse on immigration with facts and sophisticated research; and build a more welcoming, inclusive country from the ground up.
Help us fight for immigration justice!
The research is clear – immigrants are more likely to win their cases with a lawyer by their side. But very few can get attorneys.
Introducing the Immigration Justice Campaign Access Fund.
Your support sends attorneys, provides interpreters, and delivers justice.
Immigration Justice Campaign is an initiative of American Immigration Council and American Immigration Lawyers Association. The mission is to increase free legal services for immigrants navigating our complicated immigration system and leverage the voices and experiences of those most directly impacted by our country’s immigration policies to inform legal and advocacy strategies. We bring together a broad network of volunteers who provide legal assistance and advocate for due process for immigrants with a humane approach that includes universal legal representation and other community-based support for individuals during their immigration cases.
