Fees and Refund Policies
Please note: effective January 1, 2024, Sickness & Accident Insurance will be $90/month per person

* SEVIS Fee: All J-1 program participants are subject to the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) fee. Proof of SEVIS fee payment must be submitted to U.S. consular officers during the J-1 visa consular processing. To facilitate this process, the International Exchange Center collects this fee and submits it to the U.S. Government on behalf of the exchange visitor. Accepted participants will receive a receipt. ** Host Site Fee: Federal J-1 program regulations require a visit by an American Immigration Council representative to prospective host companies with fewer than 25 employees or less than $3 million in annual revenue.
REFUND POLICY
Refunds will only be granted if requests are made within 30 days of a consulate rejection or program cancelation.
Application Denial
A refund for all fees will be issued excluding Application Review fee(s), and/or Expedited fee, and Host Site Visit fee(s) if site visit was conducted.
Consulate Rejection
A refund for health insurance purchased through AIC will be issued if an Exchange Visitor’s J-1 visa application is rejected by the consulate. Refunds for any other application/program fees will not be issued if the exchange visitor applies again for the J-1 visa after being rejected by the consulate.
Program Cancellation
Before Arrival U.S. – A refund will be issued for 50% of the Program Administration fee, 100% of health insurance purchased through AIC and applicable J2 dependent fees
After Arrival to U.S. – A refund for unused portion of health insurance purchased through AIC.

How long does it take to get a refund?
Your refund will be processed 2 weeks after receipt of the refund request form. Refunds are issued only to the owner of the credit card account used for payment.
